Biography
The Moonlight Swing Living History Big Band is an incorporated not-for-profit, living-history musical organization dedicated to preserving the music of the swing era. As a full sized, re-creation of the big swing bands of the 1930s-1940s, the band performs for a variety of public and private venues and also emulates the great 418th Army Air Forces Training Command band of WWII, led by Capt. Glenn Miller. Our band is comprised of 19 volunteer musicians from the Greater Sacramento, CA area.
Each of our performances takes the audience on a musical journey down memory lane from the 1930’s to the early 1950’s which is considered by many to be the golden age of American swing dance music.
